Under the name NexStar SLT (Star Locating Telescope), Celestron offers computer-controlled telescopes that allow access to the night sky without any prior knowledge.
Two models with the very popular Schmidt-Cassegrain optics are now available in this series:
Schmidt-Cassegrain optics have a long focal length, which is ideal for observing the moon, planets and planetary nebulae at high magnification. Nevertheless, the tube is very short and easy to transport. The closed tube protects the mirror from dust. SC telescopes are stable in adjustment and show an image without colour errors – this is also ideal for planetary observation.
You can find all models in the NexStar SLT series here in the shop.
The Celestron brand has put together a package comprising the f/2.2 RASA 800 astrograph, the tried-and-tested Advanced VX mount and the new StarSense autoguider camera.

RASA stands for Rowe-Ackermann-Schmidt-Astrograph:
The StarSense autoguider offers many advantages:
You do not need a separate laptop for the StarSense autoguider, but can simply operate it via the NexStar hand control.
As a set you save money compared to the sum of the individual prices! The offer is only valid until 15 June 2024, grab it now here in the shop!
The popular Nexstar Evolution telescopes from Celestron have a new addition: It’s a five inch telescope!
The NexStar Evolution 5 is even more compact and less expensive than the other models in this series. However, it has everything that characterises a NexStar Evolution telescope:
You can find the NexStar Evolution 5 and all other models here in the shop.
The renowned telescope manufacturer Celestron now also offers a Smart Telescope. This is a telescope with a built-in camera and a user-friendly smartphone app:
Celestron Smart Telescope S 152/335 RASA Origin
Compared to other smart telescopes, Origin has special features that you can expect from one of the most innovative manufacturers:
As Celestron is a manufacturer by and for astronomers, Origin also allows you to use filters and edit the raw images yourself without using the integrated image editing software.
Origin is supplied with a mount based on the proven NexStar Evolution design. The single-arm mount is very stable, yet compact. It is equipped with an integrated rechargeable battery that powers the mount, the camera and – if desired – even your smartphone.
With Origin, Celestron is revolutionizing electronically assisted Astronomy, also known as EAA. EAA can not be compared to observing through a Dobsonian or to “classic” astrophotography, yet it offers another approach to Astronomy that is particularly interesting for beginners and city dwellers.
With a new particularly innovative product like Origin, it is not always easy to meet the high demand in a timely manner. Therefore our recommendation: Pre-order your Origin NOW here in our shop. We will deliver it as quickly as possible.
Binoculars from Celestron’s NATURE DX range are ideal for nature lovers and hikers. They are weatherproof, compact and lightweight – ideal for on the go!
However, the price of these binoculars is perhaps the most impressive thing. Although they have all the features of more expensive brands, they are offered at an exceptionally attractive price. This makes them the ideal companion for all hillwalkers, skywatchers and, in particular, for amateur bird watchers.
The latter benefit especially from the NATURE DX binoculars with ED lenses. The extra-low dispersion lenses provide true colour images at high resolution and contrast – with almost no colour abberations. This is particularly beneficial when observing colourful plumage on bright days.
Binoculars from the NATURE DX range are true all-rounders for all nature lovers!
In order to safely observe the Sun, you need certified special filters, which provide enough protection from its intensive radiation, including the high proportion of UV radiation. Such filters are available for various optical instruments and are placed in front of the lens.
In the 10×42 EclipSmart, the manufacturer, Celestron, has created binoculars with this filter already pre-installed.
The benefits are clear and easy to see:
The 10×42 EclipSmart binoculars are exclusively designed for solar observations. This is why they are listed in the shop as a solar telescope.
With the StarSense Explorer series of telescopes from Celestron, it’s very easy to find objects in the night sky. All you need to do is install a free app and insert your smartphone into the special dock on the telescope.
Celestron combines classic Dobsonian telescopes with this new technology – a combination of proven and new technologies.
There are two models to choose from:
Both telescopes are complete systems with all the accessories you’ll need.
Unlike other PushTo technologies, no encoders are used. The StarSense app uses the smartphone’s camera to capture the current visible star field and compare it to an internal database. In this way, the app knows where the telescope is pointing, and can guide the observer to the desired object with arrows on the smartphone display.
Of course, the app also offers plenty of information about the celestial objects, together with suggestions for your observing night.
StarSense Explorer telescopes can also be used without the app, for example for a view of the Moon or another easily identifiable celestial object. For this purpose, a red dot finder is included.
Dobsonian telescopes are among the most popular entry-level telescopes. But they are also greatly valued by experienced astronomers for exploring the night sky without a camera. These telescopes’ minimalism makes them relatively inexpensive and are suitable both for beginners and advanced observers looking for an uncomplicated nature adventure. The StarSense Explorer series of Dobsonian telescopes combines this minimalism with a modern aid for navigating the night sky.
The brand Celestron is known for its high-quality Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes. These compact telescopes have a special glass plate on the front end which is exposed to the air and, therefore, is relatively susceptible to dewing up.
Celestron now offers a newly-developed range of accessories to solve this problem:
These sturdy caps have an internal velvet surround to protect against pesky scattered light as well as dew. As every cap comes with a compatible dust cap, they can also stay on the telescope tube once you have finished observing for the night. This is a big advantage for observatory telescopes.
The dew caps are available in all Celestron SC telescope sizes. You can find the entire range here in our shop.
This new solution to the issue of dew is especially innovative. With just a few flicks of the wrist, you can separate the holding ring from the plate and replace it with a new ring with integrated heating. Thanks to the integrated sensor, the temperature of the Schmidt plate is kept just below the dew point and, therefore, remains dry.
If you are purchasing a new Celestron telescope, we can complete the installation for you prior to despatch. You can find all models here in the shop.
A set of controls is required to supply power to the heating ring. This not only provides the required energy, but also keeps the heating element’s other sensors operating optimally. This saves energy and prevents the heating creating negative optical effects. You only heat as much as you need to!
Both the 2x dew cap smart controls and the 4x dew cap smart controls can also control heating elements produced by other manufacturers. Additionally, they function as a hub for additional accessories. This prevents there being a tangle of cables and allows your set-up to be powered and controlled by one device and one software.
All of Celestron’s dew prevention options can be found here in our shop.
With the PowerTank Lithium LT, Celestron is introducing a particularly light battery, which is especially suitable for smaller telescopes.
Modern telescope electronics react very sensitively to an incorrect voltage. Operating a telescope at too low a voltage can cause the motors to suffer at higher loads and even cause the electronics to fail. The PowerTank Lithium LT uses a built-in voltage regulator to ensure that it continually delivers at least 11.8 volts, until the battery is almost empty and shuts itself down.
Compared to a classic lead-acid battery, the PowerTank Lithium LT is smaller, lighter, more efficient and better for the environment. It offers better performance, a longer life and safer operation than other, cheaper lithium-ion batteries. It also offers automatic shutdown, reverse polarity protection and charge/discharge protection, as well as protection against overvoltage and short circuits.
We recommend the PowerTank Lithium LT for telescopes from the following series:
By the way: the battery also meets the current FAA regulations for hand luggage – ideal for travelling!
The idea of controlling a telescope with a smartphone is nothing new. With the StarSense Explorer range, Celestron brings another option into play, which may be particularly interesting for beginners.
A special feature of the StarSense Explorer telescopes is that a WLAN connection does not need to be established between the telescope and the smartphone. The free StarSense Explorer app orients itself directly to the night sky, via the smartphone camera and a sophisticated mirror system.
Here’s how it works: All you need to do is install the free StarSense Explorer app and insert your smartphone into the special cradle attached to the telescope. The app uses location data from your smartphone to determine the observing location and does not require you to separately enter the current date and time.
The StarSense Explorer app uses a special lost-in-space algorithm (LISA), which is also used for the orientation of satellites. Star patterns recorded by the smartphone camera are compared with the internal database. These calculations are combined with information from the smartphone’s gyroscope and accelerometer. All this leads to a very high degree of precision that no other planetarium app can achieve! So you can move confidently through the night, even with no prior knowledge!
The StarSense Explorer app will suggest rewarding objects to observe that night at your location. You can also use the planetarium view to pan to interesting objects and identify them.
StarSense Explorer telescopes are supplied with an altazimuth mount so you can move the telescope simply about the altitude and azimuth axes. Two shafts with large grips allow fine adjustment and tracking. The telescopes are not equipped with a motor, but belong to the class of PushTo telescopes.
By the way, of course you can also use your StarSense Explorer telescope without a smartphone, for example, for a quick view of the Moon, which you should be able to find without an electronic helper.
