Carlos Malagón

Carlos was born in Málaga, and observing the Belt of Orion was his first inspiration. Today astrophotography is his great passion.

As an amateur astronomer, Carlos has been specializing in CCD astrophotography as well as the testing and sale of astronomy equipment since 1994.

With over two dozen different telescopes, he has already taken photos that have won recognition and awards in astrophotography competitions. In addition, he has also been active as a juror on several occasions. Between 2003 and 2010 he has published twenty photos as well as around 10 articles in journals.

He has also taken part in various discussions, conferences and workshops for both the Agrupación Astronómica de Málaga Sirio, the "Sirio” astronomical society, and also the Sociedad Malagueña de Astronomía, the Málaga astronomical society. In the summer, he usually organizes astronomy events for private and public institutions, such as the Torcal de Antequera observatory.
